Purpose Isn’t Found, It’s Remembered: Somatic Healing Through Movement and Joy

It’s the start of a new week.

And not just in the way we casually say that on a Monday morning, coffee in hand, checking boxes and calendars. This week feels different. It feels intentional. A remembering. It feels alive. It feels like a quiet but powerful exhale after years of holding my breath.

This is the first time I’ve truly listened to what has always been there. A knowing I’m finally ready to embrace. To let live not just in my mind, but integrate more fully into my body, my breath, my movement, my everyday choices.

I’m doing what I love.

What lights me up.

What allows me to show up as my best self, not because I’m fearless, but because I’m choosing not to let fear lead anymore.

Instead, I’m choosing joy.

And that choice didn’t come all at once. It came through noticing my growth. Through celebrating the changes that have already taken root. Through feeling gratitude for how far I’ve come, while staying open to the growth that’s still unfolding.

Again and again, I choose to show up in spaces that light me up.

Spaces that stretch me.

Spaces that sometimes feel uncomfortable.

And I’m learning, over and over, that discomfort isn’t a sign I’m doing something wrong. It’s often the place where growth begins. The place where new doors open. The place where flow becomes possible, and life starts creating around you in ways you never could have forced.

So what changed?

I didn’t become someone new.

I chose to live in the vibration that supports who I already am becoming.

And from there, everything else began to reorganize.

What It Feels Like to Finally Be Aligned: Somatic Healing

There is a profound difference between surviving and living.

For so many years, my life was about endurance. About being strong. About getting through. About navigating responsibilities, expectations, my healing, leadership, service, and the weight of what had been carried for far too long.

And then something shifted.

Not overnight. Not magically. But slowly, deliberately, lovingly.

I began choosing spaces that lit me up.

Spaces that invited me to show up as my best self, not my most guarded self. Spaces that stretched me, challenged me, and sometimes made me uncomfortable, but in the way that growth always does.

Because growth doesn’t happen in comfort.

It happens in presence.

It happens when we stop hiding.

It happens when we listen to the quiet voice inside that says, There is more for you.

And when you start living aligned, truly aligned, your body knows it first. and somatic healing begins.

You feel lighter.

You breathe deeper.

You laugh more freely.

You move differently through the world.

That’s alignment.

Choosing Joy Instead of Letting Fear Lead

Fear has a very convincing voice.

It tells us to stay small.

It tells us not to rock the boat.

It tells us that safety lives in the familiar, even if the familiar is painful.

But here’s the truth I’ve come to know with every fiber of my being:

Fear is not the enemy.

Fear is a signal.

And joy is the compass.

When I stopped letting fear dictate my choices and instead began choosing what brought me alive, everything started to change. Not because fear disappeared, but because it no longer had the loudest voice in the room.

Joy became the guide.

Joy said, Go here.

Joy said, Try this.

Joy said, Trust yourself.

And the more I listened, the clearer everything became.

The Space Where Growth Actually Happens

There’s a myth that growth is supposed to feel good all the time.

It doesn’t.

Growth often feels awkward.

It can feel vulnerable.

It can feel like standing in the middle of the dance floor with the lights on and nowhere to hide.

But that discomfort?

That’s the doorway.

That’s the space where old patterns dissolve.

That’s the space where nervous systems recalibrate.

That’s the space where you begin to see what you’re actually capable of.

And here’s something I’ve learned deeply:

You can only see what you’re ready to see.

When you shift your internal vibration and choose to live in alignment with your highest self, you stop seeing limitations everywhere. You stop filtering the world through fear and scarcity.

You begin seeing possibility.

Living in the Vibration That Supports Your Best Self

This is where everything changed for me.

I didn’t force confidence.

I didn’t wait until fear was gone.

I didn’t need external validation to move forward.

I chose to live in the vibration that supports my best self.

And that vibration changes what you notice.

It changes what you attract.

It changes what you believe is possible.

When you live from that place, opportunities don’t feel forced. Connections feel natural. Creativity flows. The right people show up. The right doors open.

Not because the universe suddenly decided to be kind, but because you’re finally aligned enough to walk through the doors that were already there.

Honoring the Pain That Made This Possible

There is a sacred truth I carry gently and honestly:

I would not be who I am today without the pain I endured.

That doesn’t mean the pain was okay.

That doesn’t mean it should have happened.

That doesn’t mean I minimize it.

It means I’ve learned to honor what grew from it.

The experiences I lived through as a child shaped my capacity for empathy, presence, and deep understanding. They taught me how to feel what others can’t always put into words. They taught me how to hold space without judgment. They taught me how to listen beyond language.

And today, I can see a world I didn’t even know was possible back then.

A world filled with connection.

With safety.

With joy.

With love.

With movement.

With meaning.

All of it grew from soil that once held pain.

To Those Who Are In the Middle of It Right Now

If you are reading this and you are in the middle of something unbearable, I want you to hear me clearly:

There is an end.

Not an erasing.

Not a forgetting.

But a knowing inside, guiding you.

You are not broken.

You are not behind.

You are not invisible.

You are loved.

You are love.

Even if it feels like you’re walking alone.

Even if it feels like no one understands.

Even if it feels like the light you carry is dim right now.

I see you.

I hear you.

I value you.

And I want you to know, your presence matters more than you realize.

Purpose Isn’t Found. It’s Remembered.

This is where the language around “purpose” often misses the mark.

Purpose isn’t something you chase.

It isn’t something you prove.

It isn’t something you declare to be seen.

Purpose is remembered.

It’s remembered in moments of alignment, when your body responds before your mind can explain why. When something feels deeply familiar even though it’s new. When joy doesn’t feel performative but grounding.

Purpose lives in the body long before it becomes language.

And when you stop trying to become something and instead allow yourself to integrate what’s already there, life begins to reorganize around that truth.

A Stronger Way Forward

As this week begins, I’m not asking myself how to do more.

I’m asking how to listen better.

How to stay present when joy arrives.

How to let expansion feel safe.

How to keep choosing spaces, on the dance floor and in life, that support integration instead of exhaustion.

This isn’t the end of a journey.

It’s a deeper commitment to it.

And if you’re standing at the edge of your own remembering, I hope you trust the quiet pull you feel.

It’s not random.

It’s not naive.

It’s your body telling the truth.

Keep listening.

Keep moving.

Keep choosing what brings you back to yourself.

A Gentle Invitation as You Start This Week

As you step into this week, I invite you to ask yourself:

Where am I choosing fear out of habit?

Where am I choosing comfort instead of alignment?

Where is joy quietly asking to be chosen?

You don’t have to overhaul your life today.

You don’t have to have it all figured out.

You just have to listen.

Keep Shining

Thank you for showing up each day.

Thank you for trying even when it feels heavy.

Thank you for carrying the light you were given.

Even on days when it feels unseen.

Even on days when it feels misunderstood.

Even on days when it feels lonely.

You have a purpose.

You belong here.

And your light matters.

Keep shining.

Never give up.

With so much love,

Your friend,

Shalay

With love and deep respect,

Shalay
